“I recently had the pleasure of studying photography under David West, and it was such a wonderful experience! As one with cognitive challenges, he was always so patient, kind, generous in spirit and of time- for which I will always be grateful for! I have such a better understanding of the basics of Photography now, and am ready to more confidently photograph the world- thanks to David!” - John Gardner Somerville, MA
You spend a lot of money buying a DSLR camera. Wouldn’t it be great to learn how to use it so that you can leave auto-mode behind for good? David will assess your skill level prior to creating a custom curriculum that matches your needs. If flash photography is your only concern then David can spend the whole class helping you get a firm grasp on the use of flash. Time can be spent on determining which gear to purchase next and advice when shopping for used equipment. If you want to take it a step further you can select a larger grouping of classes and arrange them to fit your schedule.
Some companies and organizations make funding available for continuing education and photo lessons can be a great way to expand your knowledge base while providing the organization with a great new skill set.
Classes are only available in two or three hour blocks because typically people start to lose focus and drift off after 3 hours.
Students are required to bring their own Nikon or Canon DSLR camera and lens(es) kit. Born Imagery does not provide student loaner cameras to use. The point of these lessons is to learn how to get out of auto mode so Point and Shoot cameras are not permitted. Only a DSLR camera will be used for these classes but it can be the most basic camera up to an advanced pro-level body as long as it has manual mode.
Travel time to a site other than Born Imagery studio can be accommodated with a travel fee of $100/hr both ways.
If the student needs to cancel or reschedule a class then Born Imagery must be given at least 24 hrs notice. A class will not be rescheduled or refunded if cancellation occurs within 24 hrs of scheduled date and time.
